i want to tell you something… but i forgot…

i do actually have a lot of things on my mind.. but i can’t filter out what to write though… hmmm… where shall i start… OH YES!!! BLACKOUT WAS FANTASTICOOOOO!!!!!!!!! i bet some of you have no lahabau clue what i’m talking about.. or have any idea wat lahabau means..

Blackout is Singapore’s first art exhibition in a giant warehouse where pple navigate in the dark! Venue was at Tai Sing St somewhere in the ulu-ness of Paya Lebar’s industrial district… when they said giant, they really meant giant.. it was huge! The place was so vast and just crispy clean and concrete and smooth and i was so tempted to just lie down in the center of it and let pple pass by.. but of course.. i won’t wanna embarrass my date, msjiahui@hotmail.com.. :)

The journey to the venue was pretty interesting albeit in an overpriced ‘premier’ cab.. We hopped on one and got a pretty friendly cabbie.. his cab had cookie crumbs in the backseat.. so we were pretty squashed to the left side of the car… anyways.. that was what sparked our conversation about how pple will be fined for eating in a cab, train and buses.. it was a pretty long conversation for a topic so common.. hah! Then we directed the cabbie to the ulu warehouse.. which we have never been to before.. and the cabbie was asking us why were we in the factory area at this hour.. we didn’t give an answer but he presumed that we were there for work.. SERIOUSLY.. DO WE LOOK LIKE FACTORY MINAH AND AH LIAN TO HIM???!!!! no offence to the factory workers but when i look at the wo’man in the mirror’, i didn’t think that i look like someone who’d be sitting at the end of a conveyor belt that has no sushi plates on it! To continue the story, we were lost briefly cos who would’ve have known that to get to Tai Sing St, you need to get to Tai Sing Link first.. and finally we reached the venue, and the cabbie printed us a receipt so that we can claim from our ‘factory employers’.. baaahhh!

And so we were there… here are some of the pictures for those who are not my friends on facebook.. :)

They should definitely have more exhibitions like this one here… Both Jia and I had so much fun at the exhibition!!

Oh yes.. bimbo moment 180709.. my poptart event invite was in my spam box in gmail… WHY DIDN’T I CHECK MY SPAM FOR A WEEK???? garrrhhhh!!!!

By the way… I’m SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in love with Yuna right now.. Here’s my favourite song..

“you came the last minute of panic to save me”

THE WEEKEND

location: central library
Mood: totally irritated cos there’s this auntie next to me who keeps rubbing her belly!!! And now she’s rubbing her thighs!! You know how every sound is amplified when you’re in a super QUIET place like the LIBRARY! GARRRRHHHH!! It’s a good thing that my keypads are pretty silent.. If not i’ll be irritated with myself and won’t be blogging right now… Ok ok… Happy thoughts… Happy thoughts… Maybe its time i plug in my ipod..
Ahhhh.. So much better.. Just me, my thoughts and katy perry in my ears… This is life! Hahah!
So yes.. I’m blogging from my phone… My new phone.. My new shiny e63 which is the more loved stepsister of e71 just cos its cheaper.. Hehe.. I’ve been using this phone more often than my laptop now! Makes me think if i wanna sell off my laptop since i’m so running out of cash.. Oh well.. Everyone’s forever running out of cash.. One thing i’m not easy abt this phone is the fact that the pads are so close to one another that if i cut my nails super short my words will coume out kike this! See wat i mean??? i thought my fingers are skinny for a big girl.. But i guess not skinny enough for a qwerty phone keypad! And i’m pretty particular abt spelling.. So when i wanna type fast, i see an error, it’s frustrating to backspace over and over to erase my big thumb trippings!!

The past weekend has been a (as cliche as it sounds) rollercoaster of emotions.. What with the breakups and the happy meetups with close frens.. I say breakups because i was not the only one who had to deal with one but a colleague had one too and she didn’t quite handle it so well (at work at least)…

My friends are the dearest.. Though i’ve broken up with him countless times.. They’re there for me all the time, though now they start betting on how long we’ll stay apart before getting back together again…

So yes.. We girls went out on friday cos GSE gave me some invites for their performance at the Hennessy Artistry event at Dbl O.. It was really an amazing performance! I haven’t been to their gigs for possibly 2 years now cos going to local gigs seem to remind him of thunder and i didn’t want to see him sad… So i laid off the local scene for a while.. A long while…

Now i’m back home.. no longer blogging from the phone.. my feet hurt like asdgklasdhgbdfasgbfadlh… not sure why.. hmm.. maybe the shoes..

To continue the post.. I’m totally back in the scene and even reactivated my MYSPACE so that i’ll be in touch with the local underground scene.. i loved it when i was in the know of what’s happening in the music scene… you can’t rely on 987’s a-local-song-every-hour gimmick when its electrico half the time.. there’re so many other good bands around that do not have the exposure.. so yes.. it was mad fun.. the 4 of us were even color coordinated.. :)

Then comes Saturday… met up with Alicia and her friend Danny to go for the night festival.. well… we didn’t exactly watch the show.. we went to SAM to pass by the fllea markets which was a total bust though cos nothing was worth my interest… then we went into SAM and saw one art piece by some old chinese guy.. goh something something.. can’t really seem to remember his name suddenly.. it was this biggggg bedsheet piece with spots of primary colors and some greys and blacks… and there was a bench in front of it.. a big enough bench to fit our 3 carls’ jr fed bums.. so we sat and we looked.. and as we looked.. we spent a whole of probably 20 minutes or so pointing out images out of our own imagination on that piece! things we came up with were polar bear, kung fu panda, ninja turtle in a trench coat and many, seriously many more.. Alicia is supposed to put up the picture and we 3 are supposed to tag that piece.. hahaha! So blar dee blar dee blar.. we ended up at Timbre singing along to the Oddfellows.. or is it Oddfellas? i’m not too sure.. but i know i’ve them on myspace too.. hahahah!

OOOOOOK… More timbre tmrw! wooohooo! i’m back to my nocturnal life yo! faschizzle ma nizzle! :)

Sign up to be a volunteer with Mercy Relief!!!

Hey ho tralalalala ho!

I had super much fun last night at the Mercy Relief booth! I was there with 2 of my colleagues, Gene and Rosalyn.

Gene was the one who received the email and told us about it in the office. Mercy Relief is currently running roadshows in the heartlands to spread the word about the work they’ve done and the pple they’ve helped. So we 3 helped them out by spreading the love and balloons all over Jurong East Mrt Station!

You meet so many interesting characters when you’re out there from 6 –  9 blocking their path to their bus berths. Hahahah! Overall, the pple there were pretty nice to me! I get the occasional ones who just look at me with no expressions and walk past… then there’re a few who smiled and politely said they’re not interested… then there’re a handful who asked me to SIAM! HAHAHAHA! But best of all, the kids were all running to me to get the balloons! That was really the most fun part, i went straight to the adults with kids and grabbed my chance to talk to them about our efforts and how they can join us… Quite a few whom i spoke to actually went to our booth to have a look at the photo exhibition! Not bad not bad!

Do check out the MERCY RELIEF WEBSITE to join as a volunteer or keep updated with all the events! :)

OOOH! Great Spy Experiment is going to be performing at the Hennessy Artistry event at Dbl O this Friday!! They just confirmed that they’ll be giving me 6 passes! Soupy says she’s interested! So wat abt the rest??? Let’s go!

overslept for prata

here’s the thing.. i signed up to help mercy relief at their booth at jurong east mrt station today together with two of my colleagues.. so one of my colleagues was the one who organised everything… told us where to go, what time to meet etc… so the time to meet was 0845 at the station..
i woke up at 0845! hah! some of my frens might be rolling their eyes, twirling their hair, scratching their armpits thinking..”so expected lar that woman”..
anyways.. i rushed thru my shower, managed to tie my hair neatly enough not to look like i escaped from imh (i desperately want to cut those lovely “soft” curly tresses off!), and got to lakeside..
so there i am, with my chicken little ez link card ready to tap.. and BLOODY HELL.. not enough credits… waddefarrrkkkk!!! i’ve 4 bucks in that card! back in 2008, i can squeeze my card dry till negative value but now, even with my chicken little charm, they still won’t let me through those gates.. pfft.. so i missed the train and went to get the STANDARD ticket.. tick tock tick tock.. i was waiting behind this bangla who has no clue how to get his return deposit… i gave him a few chances to try it out himself.. maybe not a few.. just one chance, before i did the job for him.. pfft.. never mind.. good deed a day.. that shall be my good deed today! hahaha!
so went on the trip to jurong east… took me 4 mins to get there and it cost me 100 cents! met my colleagues and they informed me that the event was 1800 to 2100!!!!!!!!! garrrhhhhhh!!! so we decided to go for breakfast instead and trash talk abt work..
that’s how i overslept for prata..
THE END.

“last race of the year”

11 more hours to my last marathon of the year! in the midst of uploading all the songs i need to hear for each step i’m bouncing on the concrete paths….

and erm yeah.. this is my 3rd blog.. i AM that fickle… can’t seem to focus yo.. just like wat Mr S used to say to me..

you haven’t quite found your niche yet

i’ve conditioned my body to bounce for long, long distances for the past month or so… sometimes with the knowledge of Mr. Q but sometimes… i’d just trot out late late late at night to cover that extra 10k..

after sundown… i vowed not to ever stop ever ever ever during any run.. cos for the first time i slowed down to a walk and one big blister started to bubble under my left foot.. and then my right..

note to self..

TIE MY SHOE LACES TIGHT ENOUGH!

and i just realised that i haven’t inserted the race chip in my shoe yet nor packed anything for tomorrow..

now.. a major decision to make.. shld i wear my plain white adidas socks or the comfy monkey face pink socks?

yes alicia.. i wear the socks you gave me everytime i run… :)
