i do actually have a lot of things on my mind.. but i can’t filter out what to write though… hmmm… where shall i start… OH YES!!! BLACKOUT WAS FANTASTICOOOOO!!!!!!!!! i bet some of you have no lahabau clue what i’m talking about.. or have any idea wat lahabau means..
Blackout is Singapore’s first art exhibition in a giant warehouse where pple navigate in the dark! Venue was at Tai Sing St somewhere in the ulu-ness of Paya Lebar’s industrial district… when they said giant, they really meant giant.. it was huge! The place was so vast and just crispy clean and concrete and smooth and i was so tempted to just lie down in the center of it and let pple pass by.. but of course.. i won’t wanna embarrass my date, msjiahui@hotmail.com..
The journey to the venue was pretty interesting albeit in an overpriced ‘premier’ cab.. We hopped on one and got a pretty friendly cabbie.. his cab had cookie crumbs in the backseat.. so we were pretty squashed to the left side of the car… anyways.. that was what sparked our conversation about how pple will be fined for eating in a cab, train and buses.. it was a pretty long conversation for a topic so common.. hah! Then we directed the cabbie to the ulu warehouse.. which we have never been to before.. and the cabbie was asking us why were we in the factory area at this hour.. we didn’t give an answer but he presumed that we were there for work.. SERIOUSLY.. DO WE LOOK LIKE FACTORY MINAH AND AH LIAN TO HIM???!!!! no offence to the factory workers but when i look at the wo’man in the mirror’, i didn’t think that i look like someone who’d be sitting at the end of a conveyor belt that has no sushi plates on it! To continue the story, we were lost briefly cos who would’ve have known that to get to Tai Sing St, you need to get to Tai Sing Link first.. and finally we reached the venue, and the cabbie printed us a receipt so that we can claim from our ‘factory employers’.. baaahhh!
And so we were there… here are some of the pictures for those who are not my friends on facebook..
They should definitely have more exhibitions like this one here… Both Jia and I had so much fun at the exhibition!!
Oh yes.. bimbo moment 180709.. my poptart event invite was in my spam box in gmail… WHY DIDN’T I CHECK MY SPAM FOR A WEEK???? garrrhhhh!!!!
By the way… I’m SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in love with Yuna right now.. Here’s my favourite song..
“you came the last minute of panic to save me”
